State Technical College of Missouri will be renamed the State Technical College of Missouri.
When will this Name Change Take Effect?
Our name will officially change to the State Technical College of Missouri on July 1, 2014.
Why is the College Being Renamed?
This name change better reflects our statewide role under current Missouri law. Enrollment at the college represents 80 percent of Missouri counties and our graduates fuel the state’s technical workforce. We are the only state technical college in Missouri.
Our curriculum balances hands-on technical courses with a strong foundation in communication, problem solving, decision-making and critical thinking. We look forward to continuing our mission of preparing our students for profitable employment and a life of learning.
This name change doesn’t eliminate the history and tradition of State Tech, but rather celebrates and defines what we’ve been providing to the state since the college’s inception.
How will the College Fund this Name Change?
Funding for unique expenses associated with the name change will be provided through the fundraising efforts of the Foundation for State Technical College of Missouri.
