Over 80 companies seeking new employees at Linn State's Job Fair
Over 80 companies are registered for Linn State Technical College’s annual job fair on Wednesday, February 13, 2013.
“There has only been one other time in the last 17 years that we’ve had this many companies on campus at one time,” said Glenda Whitney, Career Services Director.
The job fair starts shortly after 9:00 a.m. and continues until noon in the LSTC Activity Center. Employers from across the state of Missouri and the Midwest Region are coming to Linn State seeking highly skilled technicians. With over 80 companies participating in the job fair, the three basketball courts will be filled with employers and students seeking employment.
The annual job fair is an opportunity for employers, students and faculty at Linn State to join others across the nation during the month of February to celebrate national Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. This year’s theme is Career and Technical Education Works!
Over 1,200 students now attend Linn State for technical education. Since opening its doors in 1961, the college has graduated over 11,000 individuals to meet the state of Missouri's workforce demands for highly skilled technicians. Linn State stands alone as Missouri’s first and only public higher education institution with a statewide mission devoted solely to technical education at the Associate of Applied Science degree level.
With more than 35 academic programs, Linn State Technical College is Missouri’s only public two-year technical college with a statewide mission to prepare students for profitable employment and a life of learning.
