Linn State students compete in National PAS competition
Seven of Linn State Technical College’s Commercial Turf & Grounds Management (CTG) students traveled to West Des Moines, IA on March 14-17 for the Postsecondary Agricultural Student (PAS) organization’s national conference.
CTG students competed in horticulture specialist contests, employment interview and career progress competitions. Brittany Marshall of Columbia, MO was a second place winner in the Landscape/Nursery Employment Interview contest.
Students also toured the facilities of Principal Park, the home of the Minor League Iowa Cubs baseball team, and Pioneer Hi-Bred International’s research facilities.
“There were some excellent tours lined up,” said Nick Rackers, CTG Instructor. “The students saw some very high-tech agriculture up close.”
With more than 35 academic programs, Linn State Technical College is Missouri’s only public two-year technical college with a statewide mission to prepare students for profitable employment and a life of learning.
