WWU, Linn State Technical College Sign Agreement

A new agreement between William Woods University and Linn State Technical College will make it easier for qualified LSTC students to continue their education at WWU and complete a four-year degree.

“Under the terms of the new articulation agreement, students who successfully complete a two-year associate of applied science degree in certain fields at LSTC can effortlessly transfer to WWU to pursue a baccalaureate degree,” Dr. Jahnae H. Barnett, WWU president said.

The agreement, which goes into effect this fall, ensures a smooth transition to WWU for LSTC students completing academic programs in computer programming, management information systems and networking systems technology. At William Woods, they will be able to complete a B.S. degree in management information systems or business administration with an MIS concentration.

Dr. Tom Frankman, associate dean of academic services at WWU, said the agreement “will provide a road map for students to pursue their educational goals. It will show them which classes will transfer and which courses they will take at William Woods.

According to LSTC President Donald Claycomb, the agreement fits well with LSTC’s mission to prepare students for profitable employment and a life of learning.

“More and more students want to earn a baccalaureate degree in order to advance in their professions,” he said. “Agreements such as this ensure that happens seamlessly.”
