Linn State Foundation chair honored for service
Thomas A. Dinkins III, Saint Louis, Missouri, was honored at a recent Foundation for Linn State Technical College board meeting for his achievements and contributions to the college as chair of the foundation.
Dinkins, who served on the board since 2000, was immediately nominated board chair and remained the board chair during his tenure as a member of the board. Under Dinkins leadership much effort was placed on developing stronger ties with alumni, revitalizing the alumni association and creating communication tools to reach out to the 10,000 graduates of the college.
“Dinkins and his family have supported Linn State Technical College in an exemplary manner,” said Dr. Donald Claycomb, Linn State President. “The college is truly grateful for Tom’s many years of service to the college.”
Prior to his role as the board chair, Dinkins was appointed by Governor Mel Carnahan as a charter member of the Linn State Board of Regents in 1996, serving as second chairman of the board.
“My appreciation for Linn State Technical College grew even stronger over the years especially the more involved I became in the college,” said Dinkins. “I truly believe in the mission of this college.”
With more than 35 programs, Linn State Technical College is Missouri’s only public two-year technical college with a statewide mission. LSTC has campuses in Linn, Mexico and Jefferson City. LSTC prepares students for profitable employment and a life of learning.
