Linn State Technical College is a member of a consortium of Missouri two year colleges that received the MoHealthWINs $20 million dollar Federally Funded Trade Act Grant issued by the Department of Labor. Linn State Technical College will use their portion of these funds to train and retrain participants to be employed in the healthcare field focusing on IT, Biomed, and Maintenance.

Programs of Study offered at Linn State Technical College

DIGITAL LITERACY -This traditional, 8 week program of study offers basic computer concepts along with Introductory Healthcare Industry Soft Skills. Microsoft and Medical Terminology will be emphasized. Basic math and reading will be contextualized in this program of study. This is the entry level program leading into other grant funded programs of study. Upon successful completion of the Digital Literacy program participants will receive a Certificate of Completion and will be eligible to test for the IC3 and NCRC Exams. Class launch dates: *2013: March, May, July, August, and October * 2014: January, March, May, August, and October

OFFICE CLERK/CUSTOMER SERVICE -This hybrid, 8 week program of study offers basic computer concepts, along with project management and basic office skills needed for grant funded participants to become an Office Clerk or Customer Service Representative in the healthcare profession. Math and reading will be contextualized in this program of study. Participants should have completed competencies in Digital Literacy. Upon successful completion of the Office Clerk/Customer Service program participants will receive a Certificate of Completion and will be eligible to test for the Microsoft Office Certificate. Class launch dates: *2013: March, May, July, August, and October *2014: January, March, May, August, and October

COMPUTER SUPPORT TECHNICIAN -This hybrid, 8 week program of study offers essential computer concepts and skills needed for grant funded participants to become a Computer Support Technician. Math and reading will be contextualized in this program of study. Participants should have completed competencies in Digital Literacy and Office Clerk/Customer Service. This is a program that includes hardware, voice and data cabling, and other instruction based on A+ Certification. Upon successful completion of the Computer Support Technician program participants will receive a Certificate of Completion and will be eligible to test for the A+ Certificate. Class launch dates: *2013: October *2014: January, March, May, 'and August

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION -This hybrid, 8 week program of study offers essential computer concepts and skills needed for grant funded participants to become a Computer Support Technician. Math and reading will be contextualized in this program of study. Participants should have completed competencies in Digital Literacy and Office Clerk/Customer Service. This is a program that includes hardware, voice and data cabling, and other instruction based on A+ Certification. Upon successful completion of the Computer Support Technician program participants will receive a Certificate of Completion and will be eligible to test for the A+ Certificate. Class launch dates: *2013: March, May, August, and October *2014: January, March, May, and August

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION -This hybrid, 8 week program of study offers computer concepts and usage, along with administrative skills, server administration knowledge, data systems management and communication skills, which Is needed for administrative employment in the Healthcare Industry. Math and reading will be contextualized in this program of study. Participants should have completed competencies in Digital Literacy, Office Clerk/Customer Service, and Computer Support Technician. Upon successful completion of the Systems Administration program participants will receive a Certificate of Completion and will be eligible to test for a HitPro Certificate. Class launch dates:
*2013: May, August, and October *2014: January, March, May, August, and October

INTRODUCTION TO MAINTENANCE -This traditional, 16 week program of study offers a broad range of basic skills needed to install, repair, and maintain a variety of equipment and inventory in the healthcare facilities. Math and reading will be contextualized in this program of study. Upon successful completion of the Introduction to Maintenance program participants will receive a Certificate of Completion and will be eligible to test for an OSHA, EPA Section 608 and CPR certifications during the course of the program. Class launch dates: *2013: March, May, and August *2014: January, May, and August

BIOMED EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN -This is a high-level, online program of study, teaching grant funded participants maintenance and repair techniques for a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic biomedical instrumentation. This program is a 16 week course, plus an internship. This program offers college credit to completers, along with preparing participants to receive the EET Biomed Equipment Technology Certificate. Class launch dates: *2013: August *2014: January and August
