Practical Nursing Technology
Linn State Technical College is offering Practical Nursing Technology (PNT) starting August 2013. The PNT program is located at the Nichols Career Center in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Practical Nurses are important healthcare professionals who are responsible for dealing with the direct care of a patient. The PNT program equips you with the necessary skills and training to utilize the nursing process in planning, providing and evaluating individualized care meeting the patient’s basic needs. You’ll learn to monitor the patient, take vitals, administer medicines, apply bandages, feed patients and collect samples as well as many other assorted jobs.
During this 12-month program you’ll work in long term care facilities, clinics, hospitals and home health gaining real world experience in this important healthcare profession. Upon successful completion of the program you will be eligible to sit for the State Board of Nursing examination to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. The program does not guarantee eligibility to take the licensure exam.
